Shaun_300
Just wanted to write a little review on my newly purchased GPS from Garmin. Got on Ebay for about half the price their advertising them in the stores for! Still new in box, still wrapped in plastic. Powered it up, North America topo maps preloaded and working great. Plugged it into the computer via USB and put an update in it, woke up the next morning and it was stuck in demo mode and wouldn't come out of it. I was a little ticked but figured it was a simple fix. Got on the phone with Garmin support in Kansas and they had me fixed up with an updated software program in a matter of minutes saying the update I installed had a corrupted file in it. Loaded it up and it worked like a charm again! This thing is great works like a vehicle GPS and a trail GPS all in one unit, you can look up points of interest like restaurants and stuff like that and punch them in and it'll take you right to it. My other GPS would take you in a straight line, this does that or you can also calculate it on the roads which is nice. Very easy to navigate around, don't need to read any manual to be able to understand all the features. Reception is good, even in the dealership which is a steel building I had full reception. It's a touchscreen so the only button on it is the power button. I LOVE this thing! Had a Magellan Triton 400 before this and it was a POS. Buttons didn't work anymore, it froze and you'd have to take the batteries out to reset the stupid thing, don't recommend those at all. If you're looking for a GPS that'll do it all get a Garmin Oregon! The 550T also has a digital camera built into it.:camera:
