Diamond Archer 01
I have never done it before, but I think it would be pretty cool to do it someday.
buckee
We used to make our own when I was young. It's actually very easy. It's collecting the sap that takes the time. http://www.maplemadness.com/backyard.html

Turkeygirl
LOL swampy!:-p We make our own....usually every couple years or so....and this happens to be "the year". Our Maple syrup is just about gone....Hope it's a good year. Haven't had any thaws yet for it to run which is good because Andy doesn't even have anything ready for it yet.... wtnhunt
Got a lot of maples here, had considered trying a few times to tap some trees and make some, but our weather is not usually too cooperative.
Tominator
Yep, I've dabbled in it. We only had 2 small sugar maples so I usually only got enough sap for a serving or two, but it is fun to make.
Jeramie
Ive never had it either! Infact about the only syrup ive had comes from a glass bottle from the grocery store...
Adjam5
Here goes that HOT topping again.... It gets sticky. Been through a few woods with maple harvesting tubes running all over into big vats. Never got to taste that stuff. BUT...I did get to taste New York, Vermont and Wisconsin Maple syrups. The real stuff is out of this WORLD! Buy a lot when you do, the kids will practically drink it.
Shaun_300
Haven't made it myself, but a friend of mine does. Ontario maple syrup ROCKS! If you want some send me a PM and I'd gladly send you some.

Chrud
My cousin makes it. Had a record year with over 2000 gallons of syrup last year. He bottles and sells some, but most of it went to New York. My brother and I tap some of our maples and sell him the sap. We had about 10,000 gallons of sap last year from a little over 500 taps (bags, not tubing). This year we'll have a little over 700 taps. I don't think we'll ever see another sap season like we did last year. It was unreal. Several weeks of non-stop action, for lack of a better word. Tominator
not looking to "stir up" any problems:) Actually, if you start a war, curious thing, Matt and Luke and in the past, Craig would send you that stuff unsolicited, out of the blue. It was kind of cool.
