Lots-O-Poison Ivy

Is that your field?

No, Ben. Right up the road from me though. It is over by the river at a place called the grasslands. They do a lot of hawk watching over there. Looking at the tree is east toward NY. It is protected habitat for various songbirds that pass through in their migration. I want to get a blind in there and get some pictures in the spring.

This is the grassland itself from the fall. It would be south of the tree by about a 3/4 mile.

Thanks everyone!

Sweet lookin pics Mike....

I can't help it, but i just wanna dust those snow geese :gun1:

Yeah, they have a tendency to make you want to do that...

That's where I was going with my question, haha.

We had this discussion last year I believe, Ben. You wanted to come up and hunt.

Great photos Mike! That poison ivy is quite impressive! Those geese photos though, make me want to be laying in that field with gun in hand!

I don't know, TG. I am never impressed with that stuff. Seems like it is everywhere anymore. Like an invasive species in some areas. Every tree you see is covered with it. Looks wild for sure. I figured you would want to whack some of those geese, too!

I think I just got a case of poison ivy Mike, thanks. LOL.

Good pics.

Sorry Chris. I know what you mean. I could stand downwind of the crap and get it myself!

The only time we get snow and ross geese here is when and if we get really bad winds when they are flying down the west coast. Their flight path is well defined and they stick to the mainland side, until we get those winds that just slightly throws them enough off course to come down the east side of the island instead. We managed to get some great hunting on them one year. They're not quite as smart as Canada geese, and kept coming back for more shooting for 3 or 4 days in a row. :)

We sure get a lot of Trumpeter Swans though.

I still do!!!

Let me know when....

I asked the landowners there if I could hunt there numerous times and every time it has been a no. You get used to that here. There is the piece where the deer is that is 128 acres, but the geese are never over there. They fly in from the north, circle and end up in the big fields.
