swohiodave
What pump gun do you shoot? I have held both of my choices, a mossberg 500 or 535, or a remington 870. What gun do you shoot and why do you like it?
Turkeygirl
I have 2 Mossberg 500 20 gauges....I like them both....One is my all around gun, the other just for turkeys. Only downside is the pump can be a little "rattley" but otherwise the gun is a very good gun for the price. My turkey gun is the Super Bantam so it actually fits me a little better than my all around one that is full size so to speak...but it was my very first gun so... jm23494
I was shooting a Mossberg 500 before I got my M2 Benelli's. The Mossberg put a great number of birds on the ground while I used it. Like Ruth said the forend has a little bit of rattle in it but for the durability of the gun you can't beat it. MUDRUNNER
Mu pump gun is a Winchester 1300. It's been a great shotgun for me. I've hunted deer, turkey, pheasant and everything in between with it. My cousin has an 870 that I've shot a few times and it seems like a pretty solid gun. bluelund79
I own 3 870s. For me, they fit the best. I had a Mossberg 500, and while it was a nice gun for the money and did everything I wanted it to do, it just didn't "fit". All shoulder fired weapons are personal in choice based on fit, where the controls are, etc. I've had my 1st 870 for the past 19 years with zero malfunctions, and it is now my dedicated turkey and slug deer gun with the modifications I did to it-trigger kit, surehsot stock/forearm, turkey barrel and cantilever slug barrel. The 2nd 870 is my home defense gun, and the 3rd 870 Supermag is my do all back up gun for birds...You can't go wrong with any of your choices-pick the one you like best... Shaun_300
I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga and Browning BPS 28ga, love them both!
Strut10
I've got a Winchester 1200, Winchester 1300, Browning BPS and a Remington 870. My advice to you, if choosing between the Mossbergs and the Remington, is to buy the Remington and never look back. Mossbergs have never really impressed me much. JMHO. colorado bob
Try them all & get the one that fits you. Take a hunting jacket to the store when you try them. I'm a WingMaster man. CB
HUNTINGMAN
I have a benelli super nova with steady grip stock I use for e erything now, just change out the chokes and your good to go. I also have a Winchester I have had since I was a kid,I think it is a 1200 ranger or something like that. Like said earlier, most shotguns fit people diferently. I tried the 870 and it felt like I was holding a brick in my hands but the benelli fit perfect. My cousins 535 is a good fit for me also,I wouldn't mind haveing one of those with the tacticle stock. birdhunter39
Winchester 1200 16 GA then as my back up is my Mossberg 500 12 GA
stcif
I shoot an 870 first and foremost because it is a high quality shotgun. It is easy to field strip, well made and parts are easily obtainable. I also like to support local companies as I live a few miles from Remington. Tominator
My advice to you, if choosing between the Mossbergs and the Remington, is to buy the Remington and never look back. Mossbergs have never really impressed me much. JMHO. Ditto. We shot 870's in the service. I grew up with an 870. First Mossberg I shot was my buddy's. I didn't like it. Very loose. The first gun I ever bought was my Ithaca model 37 in 20 gauge. I really liked that gun too. Personally don't shoot any of my pumps anymore unless I'm on a nostalgia hunt. My Benelli Montefeltro gets all the action now. In fact, I'm hoping to run a couple rounds through it tonight.
redkneck
I still love to squirrel hunt with my Winchester 1200 20ga. Never been to thrilled with my 835 mossberg.

Diamond Archer 01
I have a remington 870 in 20 gauge. Great gun.
backwoods07
I shoot a scoped 500. The thing is dead on and hasn't let me down yet. That thumbhole stock is a huge plus too, esp if you're walking long distances with the gun. It makes it a lot easier to carry.
Crappiepro
I got a Mossberg 535ats Tactical Turkey in M.O.B. 12ga. Just in time for the up coming season. Its a nice gun.
Stickslinger
I have a Moss. 835 and a Rem.870 both in 12ga. In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, the Remington is a better gun. Both of them shoot great but the Remington just seems like its more solidly built. Rodney
Goinghuntin
I have 2 Mossberg 500 20 gauges....I like them both....Only downside is the pump can be a little "rattley" but otherwise the gun is a very good gun for the price. I've always had that problem with Mossberg's as well but I just bought a brand-spankin' new one three weeks ago and they've seemed to have cured it.
