Grady269
870 I shoot a Remington 870 3" Mag Mossy Oak with 26" barrell. I also have a 21" turkey barrel it wears in the spring. The only complaint I have about this gun is that it is hard to keep my cheek down on the sight plane especially if have been shooting my other shotguns alot. It just mounts a little bit different than my other shotguns. I bought a Benelli M2 field a couple of years ago and i do not shoot the 870 near as much as i used to except for Turkey hunting. dbHunterNY
i have a mossberg 500 20ga i started out with that was a good starter gun. i still use it for shooting stuff for fun now and then. it's a plain gun with some slop in the action that will make some noise if you're not mindful of it, for sure. i primarily use a benelli supernova 12ga in full advantage timber camo with a comfortech stock for hunting everything that'd require a shotgun and fun. i fitted it with a camo sling and champion easy hit front sight. I also have an assortment of chokes for it to shoot anything from coyotes to sporting clays at various distances. i really like the gun. hawgslayer
Remington 870 works for me!!
hunterbobb
Try them all & get the one that fits you. Take a hunting jacket to the store when you try them. CB This is the best advice. It doesn't matter what anyone else shoots. What fits you is whats most important when it comes to a shotgun. In case you still want to know, I shoot an 870 in 12 Ga. for turkeys, deer and waterfowl. I use a Browning BPS in 16 ga. for upland birds. I find the safety too slow on an 870 for flushing birds. :gun2:
bearcat
I also shoot Remington 870's. I have the 870 express with a 28" barrel for dove hunting and clay shooting. I use an 870 Express Super Magnum with a 26" barrel for turkey hunting. I have killed a lot of turkeys with my 870 Express Super Magnum, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I had a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag with a 24" barrel for turkey hunting, but I just didn't like it as well as the 870. It didn't fit me as well and it kicked alot harder than the 870 when using the same shells.
