dartonman
Well...interesting week, received a threatening letter from the small town hall in our town, stating that I have been targeted with a "barking dog", and if he continues to bark excessively at night, I will be fined, close to 200.00 dollars. Of course, being a proud dog owner, Im thinking "not my dog" lol...I never hear him, however, I work midnights, and am never home during the week. Well at 330am this morning, my black lab proved me wrong, and was an excessive barker. I snatched him up, and put him in the kennel box on the back porch provided by my buddy Dan (thanks Dan). I need a bark collar with two great things going for it. 1) It works, and 2) Its not too expensive. HELP!!!!!!!!! al
KirkV
I bought a reconditioned one from Tri-tronics and set it in the highest setting as per my vet. My lab tried it out one time and decided he did not want to bark for no reason anymore. Buy a dependable brand or you may be sorry, hope this helps. Try contacting them and see if they still sell reconditioned units. Kirk

buckee
We use the "Guardian" by Petsafe. It works for our little yapper . She's smart though, and knows when it's on or off..LOL Here's a link to the one we have. It works great http://www.guardianpet.net/Products/Bark-Control/Anti-Bark-Collar.aspx
NiteRunner
Never used a bark collar, but Tri-Tronics makes a good product. Heard the Dogtra brand isn't bad either.
wtnhunt
Have had the innotek collars here that cabelas sells. They work fairly well and don't cost a ridiculous amount of money.
Alisha
Never used a bark collar, but Tri-Tronics makes a good product. Heard the Dogtra brand isn't bad either. Looks like you are right about the Dogtra brand. Here is one on the Cabela's site that has great reviews and better yet, it's on sale! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21404-cat601105-cat602223&id=0079074228651a&navCount=1&podId=0079074&parentId=cat602223&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=OG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true I figure we will end up having to get one for our lab pup (7 months) because she simply will NOT shut up, even in the house with lots of training to keep her quiet. No great improvements, but she is getting better. dartonman - When you get one, would you mind posting what brand you got and what the results are? Much appreciated!
