toddyboman
I'm a little late but here is the deal.... Here is the last pictures of peg leg I had....on 1-4-10 I went about a month of not getting pictures of peg leg.....I was feeding corn after our season was over and thought for sure he would be a regular visitor....but my pictures showed me other wise. Well he finally came back..... Notice now that the bone that WAS sticking out is GONE! Then this week I got more pics of him.....but he is now missing his horns. Hopefully he makes it through the rest of the winter. I am curious to see what he grows next season
ruttinbuc
I have to bet that he will. He loks like he is in good health otherwise..
Shaun_300
Wow, looks like he's doing good! If he's made it this long he should be able to make it for the long run, as long as the yotes don't get him.
Diamond Archer 01
It looks like he is doing good.
buckee
It's truly amazing that he's made it this far. Heck, I don't think I could shoot him now. He's like a mascot.
Turkeygirl
Wow, amazing he's pulled through! I'm sure he's appreciating the corn...it's hard for him to paw around I bet. Wonder how the rest of that bone came off.....maybe there was another fracture higher up and it eventually rotted. He looks on the thin side but not horrible...compared to the one I shot during gun season. Hope he pulls through!
woolybear
My monitor settings must be WAY outta wack. He looks like death to me. Resilliant- but wouldn't bet on him making it to next fall.
backwoods07
Still looks healthy, at least judging by his weight. Sweet progression of pictures, too. Wonder what happened to that bone he used to have.
Tominator
My monitor settings must be WAY outta wack. He looks like death to me. Resilliant- but wouldn't bet on him making it to next fall. That's what I thought Wooly. His hip bones are starting to show through. Looks like he's losing weight. Tom2008
I think he might actually make it Todd. Very amazing to say the least.
Stone Cold
Wait till spring! If you guys remember the one that my camera got was the same way. I have my worries that he will shrink way to much like mine did and then down he goes. It would be nice if he did make it but odds are against him. The rack is what I want to see. I wonder if it will be deformed due to his injury?
Stone Cold
Oh yes, GO GET THEM SHEDS!
toddyboman
The rack is what I want to see. I wonder if it will be deformed due to his injury? IF he lives I think it will be somewhat deformed....non-typical. Oh yes, GO GET THEM SHEDS! Oh I will be searching for them
ruttinbuc
His coat is in pretty good shape. It doesn't look like he is losing any hair. They all look a little rough at this time of year. I had a 3 legged doe I saw 3 years in a row until this year. If anything infection might kill this buck and in my opinion if it was there he'd be dead already.
camoman1
My monitor settings must be WAY outta wack. He looks like death to me. Resilliant- but wouldn't bet on him making it to next fall. I was thinking the same thing, but then again for the situation he is in, I think he looks better than expected. He is a strong willed animal thats for sure!
ruttinbuc
Like I said they all can look rough this time of year. This picture was taken 2/2/10. Her ribs show some, too!

Jeramie
I would have to drill him. I bet when he gets old it is going to be really hard on him....
Adjam5
The whitetail has an amazing will to survive. Incredible that he has made it so long. Thanks for sharing that Todd.
slughunter
I think people underestimate deer a lot. They are extreemely tough and strong. We have had plenty of 3 leg deer around here survive for multiple winters. -shane

Guest TennesseeTurkey
Hopefully he makes it until next year, its always neat setting a goal to get one particular deer and then nab him!
NiteRunner
That's good to see that's he's still alive. I don't think he looks too shabby, considering that he has to adjust to life differently now. Deer are hardy critters. We had a Doe around the area that had her front from leg broken off about at the knee. She lived quite the long time after that.
