10 gauge?

Hope you can load it insanely fast!

I have a buddy that goose hunts with his rarely. It does the trick but would rather have his 12 ga with all the shooting. Sitting beside him shooting my SBEII with 3.5 #4, we were both dropping birds all morning. Saw no gain of the 10 over the 12. If you like it, shoot it. Just be sure to get really good at shooting it. You're not going to want to shoot it all morning, plus having the single shot on waterfowl is going to frustrate you a little bit.

Single shot is not what you wanted.

Actually it is, I've hunted with single-shots all my life; my first gun was a NEF Pardner youth 20 gauge, I took my first goose with my dad's NEF Pardner 12 gauge and my first deer rifle was a NEF Handi-Rifle .243. I'm real comfortable with them and know they are able to do "one shot, one kill".

I know that in a single-shot the recoil is going to be considerable, but I'm planning on getting a slip-on limbsaver recoil pad, too. Another nice thing is that it is a heavy gun so the recoil won't be as terrible. Plus, I've shot 3 1/2" turkey loads before out of a 12 gauge and, from what I've heard, the recoil isn't a whole lot more than that.
