Did a little truck video

You gonna scare a few on the road when you blow that bad boy:D.

How about a count down until the LS6 goes in:).

Must be frustrating driving that 4.3 6 knowing that V8 is on the stand just itching to burn rubber ;).

Oh the 4.3 can burn rubber too, you'd be surprised what that little bugger can do! :D It'll touch 100mph faster than my dad's 4x4 Silverado with a 5.3L V8. :D

That's going to be sweet when you get it together Shaun! I can't imagine how you'll tie all that stuff to your trucks computer thought the way things are nowadays.

It's actually really easy John. I have the wiring harness and PCM from a 2003 Corvette Z06 which has the same engine and is basically the same as the truck harness. All I have to do is plug in the harness to all my engine sensors, attach the PCM to the other end, power it, and away she goes. Even my stock fuel pump pumps enough fuel to feed the V8. Another good thing is my truck will lose 30lbs going from a V6 to V8. The 4.3L is a cast block, cast heads, cast intake. The LS6 is an aluminum block, aluminum heads, plastic intake. Even though it has 2 more cylinders it only weighs 400lbs, the 4.3L weighs just under 430lbs.

That looks nice, I sold a zo6 engine to a guy in texas on ebay. I took it out of a 2002 vette. It had 28k miles on it. The customer had it as another dealer for a oil gauge problem fluctuating, They put in a new oil pump but forgot the o ring on the pickup tube. So It was realy messing up the oil pressure sucking air and oil. The custmer bought his own engine and I installed it. I kept the old one and sold it to a guy in texas who put it in his truck too. He called the next day after he got it to tell me it was running great. I asked him what did he expect and he said you never know on ebay....lol. Anyway will you radiator be enough for that? Got a few more cylinders to cool down now. Looks good though. I have seen a few come through with a blower on top and the belt slips on hard accel.to the blower. Glad you are going turbo route. will you need bigger injectors?or do they flow enough?Good jon Shaun

Thanks Mirage, I took this engine out of a 05 CTS-V with 62K on it. #7 cylinder dropped the exhaust valve. Valve broke in 3 pieces and the bottom went sideways and wedged into the piston, top two pieces were found in the intake. Not too many filings surprisingly. Customer wanted a new engine, bill was $15,000 with labor to install it. I rebuilt the whole thing with the required parts with a Lunati cam, 220/224 .575/.575 112LSA. Got Lunati springs coming that'll handle .600 lift. The stock 48lb injectors will be fine without the turbo, (not installing it til summer). When the turbo goes on I'll have to get 60lb injectors. My tuner said it'd be borderline but the PWM will be close to max with the 48's. I'll definitely go with the 60's, last thing I want is this thing to lean out and blow to smitherines after all this work and cash. I'll be running a wideband system and boost gauge, maybe even an EGT gauge to keep an eye on everything at all times.

Should be a fun little truck. It's a RCSB 2wd 5-speed manual. :)
