fly
Went today with my son, brother, and dad. Had a great time. Not as big as I expected. Nearly 500 deer heads were up for display while 350 were entered into the contest. My last day archery buck of the 2007 season took first in it's category (162 net). Byron Furgeson was there, what a neat guy.
joeaveragehunter
I am glad I haven't ever been to a show in Iowa or Illinois. I would be crying for weeks after seeing ten million inches of antler from the monster deer you guys have down there. Can't wait for MN deer expo in two weeks. Lee and Tiffany and a whole bunch of stuff I can't afford. Its the best thing outside of food plottin and huntin.

Bowtech_archer07
Congrats a great looking deer! I was hoping to go this year but things just didn't work for the people I was gonna go with. Went last year though and had a great time. Byron Ferguson is a heck of a guy. I watched him last year. That was a blast!! Did anyone ask him when he started shooting a longbow? His answer is hilarious!!
ildrhntr
Was there all three days back there behind the curtains. Friday wasn't bad at all took a break and saw most of the booths. Saturday was a mad house! Sunday was back to bareable. Good Looking Deer Fly! There were alot of nice heads there I didn't measure one that didn't qualify for pope and young. fly
Great deer FLY,what county did he come from.. He came from Greene county. I shot a 10 pointer the season prior that grossed 161 inches not more than 50 yards from where I shot this one. Unfortunately the farm is being leased by an outfitter this coming season so I'm out. Guess that's the way it goes.

Did you measure the heads as a team, John?
ildrhntr
No each measurer worked alone, Mike. Well we all had an assistant but they were there to help hold antlers and write stuff down for us. I took Butch as mine.

I 'll have to get back out there to hunt again so maybe you can score one of mine. Just wasn't in the cards to get there this year as much as I wanted to. Pained me not to make it. illinoisbonesticker
Yes took the whole family, and it was very crowded. Awesome things there and alot of big bucks. This has been the only year in 6 years i didnt get to take a buck there, whacko crazy year for me. Dont forget about Pat Reeves and Nicole Jones, they were awesome to visit with, **** they even signed some sheds and took a really cool pic woth the whole family. It needs to be at the State Fairgrounds, heard its going to Peoria next year, that will suck, not enough parking. Guess we will see!
