Tom2008
Gobbler Asssassins sounds great! Turkeys better watch out for the Rage 2 Blade I'll be shooting at them this year. Going for number two boys! I'm glad to be on the team though! Dakota where are you going for turkeys this year?
Dakota
Gobbler Asssassins sounds great! Turkeys better watch out for the Rage 2 Blade I'll be shooting at them this year. Going for number two boys! I'm glad to be on the team though! Dakota where are you going for turkeys this year? I'm just hunting in South Dakota this year, but I've got four tags (two prairie shotgun tags, one Black Hills tag and a statewide archery tag) and I might get another (resident only May 1st-23rd Black Hills second tag). Looks like I'll have an opportunity at Rios, Easterns and Merriams this year. So Gobbler Assassins works for everybody then? fly
Hello Team. Glad to see I'm going to be on the winning team this year! For the first time I have 2 tags for IL. That = 10 days to rock the forest floor as a 20 lb. thunder chicken drops to the ground. Just got my second turkey tag in the mail today. I'll be hunting Union county. Tom2008
We have some giant birds where I'll be hunting. Last year one of my buddies took the #3 archery bird in the state out of there. Weight 27 lbs, 11 or 11.5" beard, and 1 3/8" spurs.

Tom2008
I'm taking a buddy of mine with me this year. He's a member here but doesn't post much. This will be his first spring turkey hunt. Way to go on introducing this wonderful sport to a friend! I bet he'll be hooked after this spring.
Squirrelhunter91
Man does it feel like Spring around here lately.. It was 60 degrees for a few days last week then it just poured (5") for the last 4 days and now its going back up to the upper 50's for the next few days. And then more rain. All of the snow is melted and its a muddy mess out there. Thinking about going out and listening to see if some birds are sounding off in this warm weather. But it's still pretty early here in NY. Our gobbling doesn't really start picking up until mid April.

Squirrelhunter91
I may have just landed a spot in Jersey to hunt. Best part is that they start in about 2 1/2 weeks. NY is May 1st. Even if I don't get to hunt in NJ, I'll still be out there trying to get a new friend his first turkey.

Guest TennesseeTurkey
I got off work early today! Great news.... I found a bird on one of the pieces of land Im hunting in Tennessee..... I walked up and out of a field into a hollow and went up the right ridge and set up..... bird came down off the mountain gobbling at everything on the left ridge :hammer1: going to try that other ridge late one evening and see if I can catch that ol boy coming in to roost ..... Monday and Tuesday looks promising!
Dakota
Good luck, Will! Our season starts this weekend. A buddy and I have reserved a cabin along the Missourri River and will be chasing Rios Saturday and Sunday with shotgun and bow. I stopped by my favorite Eastern spot on my way home from work today to see if I could strike up a gobble or two. Weather wasn't the best (windy/rainy) but the hens were calling on their own and I got a jake and a mature bird to gobble twice each. Gettin' excited!
