pendog
Nothing today for the first day...Had three to about 75 yards and they left w/o me getting to flinging some lead at them. Cool part was the black bear that walked past me at 50 feet.:jaw:

RangerClay
Cool part was the black bear that walked past me at 50 feet.:jaw: That is cool Andy! Our birds were tight lipped. Quietest opening day I can remember. I think I only heard 3 or 4 shots all morning. We'll give them another try next week.

ruttinbuc
Thanks everyone! maddhunter, don't beat yourself up over it. It is only a little contest to get us all involved. You do what you can with what you have. I feel fortunate to have had some success. Killing these things is not as easy as some may lead you to believe.. pendog
Called in a nice 2 year old for my bro in law today, very aggressive calling and putting. Threw in some raspy jake yelps and it was like turning on a switch. I could have shot but his boy was with us and it was way better to see him get one with his son there. It was so cool to see that. bad side ticks are all over, one inbedded in his son;s neck tonight. I had 2 on me.........something God could have not made in my opinion;)

ruttinbuc
Well, my season ended yesterday. I had quite the year for experiences, some of which I will put in my "dang it" book... I was fortunate to even get a bird with numbers down the way they are. I enjoyed the time afield which is most important. There were some memorable moments, for sure. Thanks for the support you all showed as my teammate. I wish all of you the best in your hunting and fishing adventures.
RangerClay
My season is also done. I think I set a record for the least many days out this year. Between family functions and lousy weather I just didn't get out that much. Its been great chatting with you all. Joe
