HUNTINGMAN
This Saturday is our opening day and I have to work all weekend. I'm realy afraid it's gonna be another bad year for me. The gobblers have been breeding for over a month and I'm afraid all the breading will be over with. Also all the trees and brush have gotten green and thick makeing it harder to see. I don't know what the problem is with the kdfwr but it's like they don't want any birds killed. They are opening season later than it has for the last 4 years,I just don't think they want any birds killed, season should have opened a month ago. We have had some of our best success towards the end of breeding...all the hens are bred but the toms are still looking normally...good luck, hope you smoke one!!! Wimpy
Season started on the 19th here, unfortunately I have started a new job so I won't have that much time to hunt, but I will get out as much as possible
toddyboman
So far turkeys have kicked my butt....... They are teasing me they just won't come quite close enough..... Seems each morning they still have hens. So hopefully this weekend when I can hunt all day I can work them all the way in while the hens go to nest..... toddyboman
WHAT A TERRIBLE SEASON I had :( I usually have very little troubling working and tagging a nice gobbler off my family farm. This year was a DIFFERENT story. Birds where just not around. I hunted my tail off for tag soup. The last 4 or 5 years missouri has had bad hatches and our turkey population is showing it. It was a fun season and I had a couple chances that I am really kicking myself for now but that is hunting! Good luck to all the rest of you guys still hunting! HUNTINGMAN
My season came to a close sunday.I didnt get to go out much the last couple of weeks due to work and the weather, just managed to get the one bird.I thought I was going to get me a jake but they turned and went into a brushy holler about 20 yards out of reach.I had fun and got some turkey for the freezer so im happy.Come on deer season. Jorden
My second season started today. Last week I had an opportunity at a jake but didnt shoot because I was hoping there was a tom behind them but there ended up not being one. I didnt get out today because of work but I hope to be after them the next few days.
Shaun_300
I was only able to get out a couple times and sit for a few hours. Been so busy this spring with a lot of things. I was hoping to get out more and was looking forward to getting my first turkey but it just didn't happen. Oh well, there's always next year.
