92xj
So, I am eating right and been chowing down on a lot of fruit lately. One thing I can not stand is a nice ripe yellow banana. I really like them when they are fresh off the counter at the store and nice and green. How can I keep a banana from becoming ripe so dang fast once I get them home? Within 2 days they are all yellow and perfect for everyone else but me. I want them to stay green but I cant figure out a way to prolong the yellowness of a ripe banana. I have tried the fridge, zip locs and tupperware stuff. Any ideas folks? And for the immature people here, I did laugh as well when reading this post. Wasting? I still eat the stupid things when they are yellow, I just want to enjoy them when they are green without having to eat all 6-8 in the first day. Guest TennesseeTurkey
If you dont eat them while they are yellow they turn brown.... (go figure) and therefore wasted.... unless your baking banana nut bread.... which again makes you "fruity"

Guest TennesseeTurkey
I am wanting them to stay green and not turn yellow so fast. My suggestion would be go buy your own dang banana tree and then they'll stay green for as long as you want!

That might work, but I live in a desert. Not to many rain forest around. And I am pretty sure that they would still turn yellow on a tree if I couldnt eat them fast enough.
