too_pointer
Re: To all of you in America Thanks, and yes, I read all of it. I guess I thought since Blair was so close to Bush, that he was of the same frame of mind. I will always believe that the NRA, and hunters, helped to get Bush in office. I feel for you bud. This might get moved to the political room, I don't know, but I will leave it here. too_pointer
Nut
Re: To all of you in America It saddens me that things have gotten so bad there. It should also polarize the hunters here that we truly are not that far from being in the same situation.
OJR
Re: To all of you in America That article is an eye opener! For those of you in this country who figure that hunting, shooting and guns are not going to be taken away, you had better open your eyes! Stop and think about the anti-hunting crowd. If they get their way and get all the predators re-introduced, why do we need any hunting season. If we don't need a hunting season, then we don't need bows, knifes and guns! What a nice and easy way to do away with all of these! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
LifeNRA
Re: To all of you in America Hopefully the hunters here in the states and Canada, will now see the full impact of what these anti's are capable of doing! I am very sorry about your mother and what is going on over there as far as hunting! This should be an eye opening exprirence for us. Not me though, because I get all the info that is going on over on your end of the pond! My problem lies in the people over here have this mentality, OHHHH IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN HERE! Good luck Rich! Hope things get better! John

markyj987
Re: To all of you in America That's a fantastic article, Richyrich. too pointer, to clarify, Tony Blair is no George W. Bush. Though Tony Blair had the courage to stand up against terror, in all other matters he is tightly aligned with the rest of far left-leaning western Europe. The people of the UK and other free nations of Europe have given away liberty after liberty towards the vision some liberal utopian fantasy. On this side of the pond, Canada has done the same---and sadly we are on this path as well. Liberalism of the 40's 50's and 60's is dead and has in fact not just drifted, but leapt towards communism as country after country elects leaders who support the notion of a nanny state. This all feeds into the reason the United States is so "hated" abroad. They are conditioned to think we are foolish and don't know any better--because thus far we have not chosen to let government completely rule our lives. Perhaps this is the natural course of a republic and it will take revolution after revolution to restore those ideals we hold dear--but I hope for this nation that we realize the path on which we are and change it now. Today, the good people of the UK would be too afraid to elect a Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher. And I don't think it's much of a stretch to say the Canadians would be afraid to elect a Brian Mulroney, or us a Ronald Reagan--or even a JFK. I'm not advocating a party or candidate here, don't misread what I've written. I'm only talking about freedom.
stevebeilgard
Re: To all of you in America you have it right, markey. blair is a liberal party member. he's aligned properly with bush, just as some democrats (far too few) are pro gun. richy, i'm sorry to tell you that it is far from over. there will soon be no hunting of anything for any reason, no guns allowed for any reason, no, no, no... you get the idea. and the more it's proven that gun control doesn't work, the louder the anti's will get. Orion_70
Re: To all of you in America I hate to hear things have gotten that bad over there. That's why I always defend other hunters, trappers and fisherman. I might not participate in one of the areas of their sport, but I'll stand up for them. Some people don't like dog hunting, bow hunting, or trapping. There's a place for all of it, we should respect others way of hunting, and not let them divide us. Guest bronco_mudder
Re: To all of you in America Richy, I extend my deepest sympathies on the death of a deep tradition, but at the same time encourage you to support what types of hunting the gov. has left you, even if you don't agree with it. For if the hunting community is divided on these types of issues all will eventually be lost, and the anti's will have won. Now to an issue I have come across over here. I read an article in a hunting mag. a couple weeks ago that the American Humane Society, and another animal rights group (which I can't remember the name of) have combined forces to exterminate bow hunting in north america. In the article is was stated as this combined force wanting to render bow hunting extinct. DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?????? I REPEAT!!!!!! DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR????????????????????? These combined forces carry a suposed budget of 96 million dollars to fight for their cause. I mentioned this article in the chat room the other day, and was basically met with an "It will never happen" response. Now to those who reacted that way I am not trying to create offence, just an eye opener that it can happen, and will happen if you harbour such oppinions. I encourage everyone, if you love our traditions in hunting, to support each other, regardlless if you think someone elses are right or not. What you feel is wrong, may just be what someone else has grown up with as the norm and is their traditon. I also would like to encourage my brothers and sisters in the hunting community to support the clubs and organizations that fight for our rights as sportsman/woman, by donating when possible, and buying memberships to these same clubs, without them the future is bleak. OJR
Re: To all of you in America Bronco, I read the same thing and if anyone doesn't think it won't or can't happen here, they are out to lunch! We, as hunters, need to open our eyes and also form ONE organization that will lobby for US! We need to take on the gun grabbers and the bleeding hearts! Stop them NOW before it is too late! With their millions, they are not going to stop! They will file lawsuit after lawsuit and there are plenty of lawyers out there to help them out! WAKE UP FELLOW HUNTERS! It is only a matter of time! Leo
Re: To all of you in America HSUS The Humane Society of United States is after bowhunting in a big way. Contrary to popular belief this group does not fund a single animal shelter. They are anti hunting, anti fishing and anti pet. If the real nature of this organization were known to the non hunting public which supplies the majority of it's funding (Non hunters are not naturally antis) This organization would go absolutely bankrupt.
