RangerClay
Is there a faster way of thawing grownd venison? I hate using the microwave because it partially cooks the meat. Do you have a secret method?
Diamond Archer 01
My dad will sometimes throw in on the counter for a pretty long time to thaw it.
Swamphunter
Drop in in a ziplock baggie minus the packing foam thing and the kotex, and then drop it in a sink of warm water flipping it back and forth every few minutes....

LifeNRA
We always thaw out burger in the fridge. But the next fastest way is to thaw it in cool water. This wont allow any bacteria to form and grow.
Turkeygirl
Pull it out and let it just thaw on the counter all day, or if you have a heat vent, throw it on that...
wtnhunt
Under cool running water in a bowl still in the package. Will help if you roll it occasionally, just be sure not to obstruct your sink drain.
ruttinbuc
I place it in a big zip lock bag and place in a good sized bowl. I usually run warm tap water for about 5 min and then all cold for 5 more and then let it sit until it is thawed enough to break it up. camoman1
I do the cool water thing, in a bowl, turning it occasionsally. Works good for all meats.
Tominator
Zap it on the low setting on the microwave.
RangerClay
Drop in in a ziplock baggie minus the packing foam thing and the kotex, and then drop it in a sink of warm water flipping it back and forth every few minutes.... Thanks Ken! That worked great! I don't use the a kotex when I process venison so I didn't have to worry about that. I hate using the microwave because it always cooks the meat a little. Just whipped up a 5 pound batch of venison meatballs!! :tt1:
Muff
Take it to work and put it under your seat....all you teachers do is sit on your butt all day....that should work really good....:D:D:eek:

Ravin R10 man
I use the defrost mode in the microwave, 30 minutes later its to the point where you can just cut it.
hutchies
Yep, Sink and warm water works great.
Texan_Til_I_Die
I got one of those Miracle Thaw devices one year for Christmas like they used to sell on TV years ago. Believe it or not, the darn thing works! It's just a sheet of metal on 4 short legs, but whatever it's made of conducts heat really well. It will thaw a pound of ground meat out in about an hour or so.
stevebeilgard
i'm old fashioned and simply think ahead. take it out of the freezer before you leave in the morning, and SHAZAM! it's all thawed out at dinner time..... lol

layin on the smackdown
Pull it out and let it just thaw on the counter all day... Note: This method is not very effective if you own a dog who thoroughly enjoys stealing and eating thawing meat off of the counter...after the third time, i began putting it in the microwave to sit, because my dog does not have opposable thumbs...
