woolybear
Travel light with only what you plan on using for the days hunt neatly and silently packed away..everything has it's place and is well organized.. OR ...fill 'er up..., 'pots and pans' clanging as you make your way through the turkey woods. Clucks and putts sounding off from your pockets with every step. Calls and ammo scattered on the ground as you search for your 'go to call' to seal the deal when that booming gobble errupts just over the rise... It might be staying home after the first day though.
woolybear
Gotta admit, up until a few seasons ago I carried everything but the kitchen sink with me. What a mess, not to mention all the gear I lost along the way. For about 3 years now I've been getting by with what comfortably fits in my 6 pocket pants. dbHunterNY
Primos predator vest w/ HS bun saver seat. For calls I carry Primos or locally made calls from here in NY; Will Primos mouth call, Primos jackpot slate, Mountain Hollow Crow call, Moutain Hollow Double Talk Xtreme pot, and a KITS cherry box call. If I bring decoys I've been using a rubber collapsible decoys from Dick's Sporting Goods.
maytom
That's why I bought a vest instead of a fanny pak. It holds more items that you can't be without and in their own pockets too!! Got one of those 20-pocket vests that seem to work very well for my needs. I have to admit, I tried a few over the years before settling on this one. I would feel naked without it. redkneck
Usually have about 4 mouthcalls, a slate, and a crow call. I dont carry a pack, if it dont fit in my jacket it stays in the truck.
Rhino
Since I switched to hunting with Ol Tom turkey hunting clothing I don't use a vest anymore. They're designed to be able to go vestless. I do put on a very small fanny pack with the pouch off to my left hip to carry water, a gobble call, a little TP, a short turkey tote rope, extra batteries for my holosight, and extra stuff to condition my slate calls. I clip my thermacell on it too when it's needed. I have 2 Ol Tom double slate call pouches I clip on to my belt loops if I decide to carry both. I usually just carry one at a time with 2 slate calls & strikers though. I put 3 diaphram calls in my call case, 1 box call (sometimes), limb clippers, 2 sets of gloves & face masks, crow call, ammo, knife, a small flashlight, extra strikers, and a little TP in a zip loc in the pockets of my camo outfit. Seat pad clips to my belt and it's designed to attached to the back of my shirt with magnets built into both when fipped up for travel.
