TBow
About 5 or 6 years ago, while I was working in the arctic, I inadvertenely forgot my Leatherman Super Tool at a remote site out in the middle of Hudon Bay. The very next year, I was the technician making the same run and low and behold, I found my Leatherman, only it was rusted making practical use near impossible. Didn't think much about it until just this week when I was cleaning out one of my copboards looking for some old archery gear. There was my poor old rusted Leatherman. Well I'm retired and I've got a ton of time on my hands. So what the heck, I wrote a letter, filled out the warranty sheet and am gon'na send it back tomorrow to see if they'll fix or replace it. Couldn't hurt. All it'll cost me is a stamp if it doesn't work out. TBow

Shaun_300
Hope it works out for you! Not sure if they'll cover corrosion under warranty. I know we don't with vehicle warranty. (brake rotors etc). Let us know how you fair out!
TBow
I was hoping they'll replace it as it's supposed to be stainless. In my books that means NO RUST! I guess I gave it the ultimate acid test....er I mean corrosion test! I sent an attached cover letter that really propped up their equipment, so I hope they take pitty on me. I should have let a couple tears drop on the letter at the point where I said I really really miss my 'ol Leatherman. You just never know, a couple salt water stains could have made all the difference! TBow
Hoosierbuck
You might be surprised about a good, AMERICAN business like that. One time I knocked a Leatherman off the side rail of my truck and watched it fall to the concrete. It landed just right and broke a part off the locking mechanism. It was totally my fault. I felt bad and put a $5 bill in to cover at least shipping, explaining that it was my bad, totally. They cleaned and sharpened the tool, replaced the broken part, and put my $5 back in the return envelope. No kidding. Leatherman rocks. TBow
A similar thing happened to me with my Buck 102 Woodsman. My son was using it to pry an arrow out of a stump. KERR SNAP! There's a lifetime warranty on Bucks, so I poppoed her in the mail with a money order to cover return S&H. Back came a brand new knife with the money order enclosed. Kudos to Buck. Hope I can say the same for Leatherman in a few weeks! The Super Tool in Canada is over $100 cdn. TBow
TBow
Stopped into the post office today, and low and behold, there in my mailbox, was a brand spanking new, in the sheath, shiny as all get out, LEATHERMAN SUPER TOOL! Kudos to Leatherman! The whole time frame from mailing the old unit to getting the new one was less than 5 days! My good grief, if I could only get the government to work that fast on anything! Great service! Great product too! A happy TBow
