natethebowhunter
Do bucks generaly hang with the does and fawns during the winter months or do they stick to their own path be a loner? Will the bucks bed with the does? I ask cuz i am looking for sheds but u cant find sheds unless there are bucks..duh..and the land i have access to has a lot of doe and fawn tracks and a lot of areas with 5-10 beds all together. there are rubs from during the rut but i am not finding large tracks in the snow. i just wana know if there is a slim chnce of a buck even being on my land during winter or not. elkoholic
The bucks tend to form bachelor groups as soon as the rut is over and are usually only found with the doe and fawn if at a food source. The big, old bucks seem to be loners and are seldom seen with other deer. When looking for buck bedding areas, the more remote or hard to access spots are your best bet. The seldom used trail is the one to follow.
