g5bigbuck
Alright so I just got me one of those new quest G5 primal bows and I need a new stabilizer, something more sophisticated then a limbsaver s-coil, any idea on whats good out there for a hunting stab. bbgatech
On my Hoyt I use Limbsavers Modular stabilizer. It works great for me ever since I got one. There's a lot to choose from on the market. Your local archery shop may let you try one or two out on the range before you buy.
g5bigbuck
yea those stabilizers do look like they would do the job and then some, but is it really necessary to invest that kind of money into a stabilizer?
Prairiepredator
I have a fuse carbon connexion stabilizer that is 6.5" and I really like it. http://www.fusearchery.com/stabilizers/index.php?id=carboncx
BearClaw
My guess is if you want something sophisticated you'll probably have to pay a sophisticated price. I use the LImBsaver S-Coil and it works great. But as said, your bow shop can let you see the options with the pros and cons. Lots of good ones out there. Well it helps that I caught mine on sale at Dick's sporting goods, but yeah your right it cost some $$$. However if it tightens groups and I can tell a differance I'll buy it. Like I said before though, your local pro shop should let you try out differant models and brands if you let them know your in the market to buy. Hope this helps. m gardner
If you notice there's none on my G-5 bow and I won the first leg of the Western States Triple Crown with it. The guys I beat didn't show up because they were bad shots either. Here's a photo of an arrow stacking practice session with the same bow. Not everyone needs to use a stabilizer for hunting. It just adds weight to the bow. Mark
TREESTANDSNYPER
The only stab I'll put on my bows is a B-Stinger. If you want a real stabilizer, one that does what it's supposed to do (actually stabilize the bow), then check out a B-Stinger. They come in 8.5", 10.25", and 12" carbon rods...and end weights in 8 oz., 11 oz., 14 oz., and 17 oz.
HUNTINGMAN
If something on a bow is to sophisticated there is greater chance of malfunction in the feild. I have used the s-coil since they came out and don't think they can be beaten. Have you had bad e periences with the s coil or just want a change. GWSmith
There are Stabilizers out there that... a. Absorb Vibration - Making less noise during the shot, reduces hand shock b. Add Weight to the Bow - Stabilizing The only reason I have one on my Bow is that while shooting other people can tell the difference in sound that it makes while on the bow. I cant tell but 30-40 yards away theres such a difference there was reportedly no sound at all heard from the other treestand. I have to carry the bow so I'm not loading it with any extra weight, while hunting(indoor range is sometimes different), if I can keep from doing that. I use an inexpensive 1" Cobra "doinker" then a 8" X-Ring Hydraulic Stabilizer for hunting. My hunting rig, people standing near it while shot, say it sounds like a quick and dull thump and their suprised that it does'nt sound louder for as fast as it is. Rarely I will change at the indoor range and use the shops "Telephone Pole and V-Bars" just for grins.

ChrisSeb53
i have the X-coil stabilizer by limbsaver... im thinking about getting the enhancer 2000 to go along with it to add a little weight.. it dampens the noise and vibration perfectly though
