Guest gfourhunter
i deal in gold tip arrows and the differents in all the types ( hunters, hunter xt, pro, ect. is in the roundness .001-.006. just to let you know you can get the hunters and cut 1 inch off of each end and bring them from .006 down to .003 like the xt for the price of hunters or hunter xt. cut the xt down and get .001 like the pro arrow. we tested this with the 22 series and worked with them also. thats what i use for hunting 25 inch 22 series gold tip with a gold tip gladiator tip. nocks the pop out of them. VTbowman
Re: little gold tip secret Can you explain how this works? I guess I am not seeing how you can go from one straightness to the other by dropping an inch from each end? Not saying its not true I just dont understand how. Anyways, Someone needs to tell JB about this. He swears by the GT Pro's. I keep telling him go XT. Thanks!
Guest gfourhunter
Re: little gold tip secret it not called straightness, we call it deviation (roundness), it happens in the cutting prosess of the arrow. this dont work 100% of the time but most of the time you get lucky. and i always say I RATHER BE LUCKY THAN GOOD. befor the arrow is cut they a verry long and even rounder than befor cut. some how in the cutting prosess makes the deviation higher on the ends. cut the ends off and back within deviation that the arrow was ment to be. so why spend the money on pro's . dont get me wrong , i like the pro's and i shoot then but only on indoor target. --------------------- how mutch do you all spend on gold tip arrows? Guest gfourhunter
Re: little gold tip secret [ QUOTE ] it not called straightness, we call it deviation (roundness), [/ QUOTE ] its hard to explain, the arrow does say straightness.gold tips dont bend they break. deviation is from tip to end total roundness . VTbowman
Re: little gold tip secret So what your saying is its sort of a measurement of round to oval to round? Sort-to-speak. Or any combo of the same. I aways thought it was how bent/curvey or not the arrow is at rest. Hmmmmm. Thanks
Guest gfourhunter
Re: little gold tip secret i cant get into the making prosess of the arrow too mutch without getting in trouble with boss man. lets just say your almost right. just take it as a little secret. one inch off of both ends befor cutting to size. it like a bent bar af steel. keep cuting it down and eventually the bar will be strait. the end is where the problem is in the arrow. plus the deviation on the ends. rember, when cuting gold tips spin the arrow on the cutter, makes a strait cut dont just push it
