Sorry I haven't stopped in in a while; with working over full time between two jobs and going to school part time I haven't had a lot of time to spend online.

Anyways, I've got some bad news. My grandpa on my dad's side isn't doing well. He's battled and beaten lung cancer three times but it has come back with a vigour and he's not doing well at all. He's been in the hospital the past few days and is dehydrated and has pneumonia as well. We just got a call a few minutes ago that he has begun talk of seeing my grandmother, some of his friends that have already passed and my aunt who died of a heart condition before my dad was born. To top it off, tomorrow is the 6 year anniversary of my grandmother's passing and is my uncle's birthday. We are leaving early tomorrow morning to drive up and be with him and the family. To make matters even worse, another of my uncles is battling terminal liver cancer and is not in good shape either.

Grandpa is 86, served in the Navy and was a competitive boxer and athlete and has been one of my biggest heros but now things look to be coming to the end. I feel bad because I haven't seen him in about 6 months, wasn't able to make it up to the family Christmas/Grandpa's Birthday bash due to work conflicts and a personal issue with an uncle (the one who's birthday is tomorrow). Now I really feel terrible for having not been there.

I would really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers not only for healing but also for salvation for my grandfather and family. Very few of the Case Clan, outside my parents and myself, are true professing Christians but it seems that God has been working in the hearts of the family. My uncle that I was having issues with is softening up and has begun speaking of spiritual things and of Jesus and the possibility of grandpa's faith in Him. So there is hope, a light in the darkness, and I am thankful for that. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much all!

Sorry I haven't been on lately, it's been a hectic week. I was up to see him Saturday and Sunday, I worked Monday and Tuesday and had school Tuesday as well. We got word that he was doing worse so Dad went up Monday afternoon and then Mom drove me up Wednesday morning and drove back down to work. As I'm typing this, Mom has just arrived in his hospice room.

Most of the family is up and the others are on their way or are preparing to come up for the funeral when that comes; all the siblings are here and some of the cousins as well. As you can guess, Grandpa has been moved to hospice at the nursing home. There is nothing they can really do for him except ease his pain with morphine. They aren't even giving him food or water unless he asks for it, but that's not liable to happen considering he hasn't voluntarily eaten any amount of food since March 5th. Grandpa is basically unresponsive now and sleeps and moans a lot. It's hard to see him like this.

On a good note, Dad texted me Tuesday night saying that Grandpa said he trusts Jesus! WOOHOO!!! :D I can't tell you how thankful I am for that. Thank you for all your prayers and please do continue to pray; I've got 6 Aunts and Uncles and about 14 cousins that need to receive Christ as well. One of my uncles is also battling terminal liver cancer and hepititis and needs continued prayers as well. Thank you all, once again, and I will do my best to update you guys as much as I can. Thanks!
