I had one, bought it for my father-in-law, his hearing wasn't too good iether. It was the original, worked great. I used it while scouting for turkeys in the spring and could hear them a long ways away but couldn't have it on while I was walking, too loud.

I sold it because I have good hearing and didn't need it after my father-in-law passed away.

I bought the pair that go in the ear canal last year. Helped me hear a lot better, yet judging the distance of the tom is a challenge with the game ear. I spoke with the reps on the NWTF convention in Nashville and they said it's only a matter of tuning them properly to get them perfect. However, after thinking about that statement a while, you'd have to tune them each time as the tuning button is also the on/off switch. With that said, I'd still buy them again.

I won a Woodland Whisper hearing enhancer at a 3D shoot raffle last year. It works great and it's A LOT cheaper. I can only imagine how much better the Game Ear is.

I tried Woodland Whisper before I bought the game ears. No comparsion. I returned the Woodlands after one hunt.
