Leo
At 8am my buddy sends me a text message "BIRD DOWN". I had only heard one gobble and seen zero birds. 8:15am I spot a hen, then another and another, eight total. One has an 8in beard. I try to call the whole flock in, they love that Perfection Screamin Demon! Here they come. Cool! Maybe I'll shoot that bearded hen and stuff her for a decoy. As soon as that thought entered my head two long beards come running out of nowhere and mob my jake decoy. I blast one of them. Down he goes. Distance 5yds! Needless to say the Gobblerguns Choke patterned well! The flock scatters and they start trying to reassemble. I stay put and act like one of the lost flock. It takes almost an hour but they start showing up one and two at a time. Where's that other gobbler? I suddenly hear one sprinting from behind and instantly he's on the jake decoy again! Five yard range again! This time I disintegrate his head! He ends up laying four feet from his bully friend. From left to right: 18lbs, 9" Beard, 3/4" spurs; 17lbs, 11" Beard, 7/8" spurs; 19lbs, 9.5" Beard, 1" spurs (no head) Two very thankful happy hunters!
