Just curious how many people carry a small first aid kit with them while out hunting. If so what all does it consist of?

I carry a medium size kit in my fanny pack that has, gauze, sterile bandages, alcohol preps, band-aids, neosporin, q-tips, liquid heat, needle, thread, iodine, ace bandages, lighter, dryer lint.

I'm in the fire dept. here and I carry a large one in my truck. It has every thing in it. but I don't take any thing in with me.

I do pack items to use for self rescue out of a tree though.

Re: First Aid Kits !!

I never used to carry anything, but this year I cut myself on my broadhead and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to tear my camo shirt at the tail to use it as a bandage.

I figure it was a little reminder to have at least some bandaids with me. I don't travel very far from my truck, but I'd hate to have to leave the woods for something so minor as a cut.

I do keep a two-way radio and a cell phone on me at all times, though.

Re: First Aid Kits !!

I have small one that I carry with me hunting, hiking, and even to school. Well I am certified in Responding to Emergencies and Lifeguarding so it's a good idea. I usually have :moleskin, athletic tape, pre-wrap, several different sizes/shapes of band-aids, tweezers, ibuprofen, gloves, a plastic bag, first aid/antibiotic ointment, First Aid instructions, gauze roll and gauze pags. I think that is it but I have other stuff also.
