Please no more pink!!!

Making it pink did not get me interested in the outdoors. It was the appeal of the outdoors itself. The females who I saw had 'pink' everywhere in their lives were clueless, helpless ninnys, that I avoided (and still do) like the plaque. I like to go fishing, I did not hunt until I was a teenager. Became a falconer when I was a teen. I had decided that I was NOT going to be a helpless female. I learned how to use guns properly from an ex-marine sniper, I taught myself how to drive a standard transmission, use mirrors for backing up my dads 1971 4x4 1 ton Dodge truck. Learned to change a tire, change oil and lube the chassis in my own vehicles, check fluids. Not be a female victim of unscrupulous car repair shops. (They had better watch our for me there, I'm from 3 generations of auto mechanics) Use tools properly, Learn the basics of mechanical systems, such as heating and air conditioning, so I know what they are explaining to me when repairs are done. And definately NOT be afraid of bugs, spiders, mice, snakes, etc. Some things I'm limited because I'm simply not strong enough. Yet, I still do domestic things. I am a good cook, and enjoy sewing.

Dang it you're more man than I am!!! :bummed:

Your opinion is yours, sure there are plenty of women who hunt who do like pink. Matter of fact I know a few and have met a few of the big name women in hunting who do infact wear pink.

Far as the gun in pink, what is your problem? If a little girl likes pink and she likes to shoot, why not? Why impose your distaste for something on someone else or cut down their opinion based on your own feelings? I would have gotten my middle daughter a rem 597 in pink if I could have found one when I was looking for a 22 for her a couple Christmases ago, but ended up getting one in mossy maple instead as it was all I could get at that time without special ordering and waiting a ridiculous amount of time.

I think a little pink is an awesome idea to bridge the gender gap. My girlfriend has the browning camo down coat with the pink zipper and has Realtree hats etc with pink here and there. She just started hunting this year and it makes it where it is not just camo and all masculine. We got her daughter a shirt with pink on it that says "girls hunt too." I am not a huge fan of a bunch of pink, but I think that a color that is a little more female than male will get more females wearing camo and hunting gear and get more people involved in hunting. It is a great thing to get more people involved in the outdoors and hunting and if it takes a little pink, then what is the harm????

Beg your pardon???

You know what im talking about. She was making her point as well and did not need a disrespectful comment like that added afterwards. Its comments like yours that make people quit using the realtree forums. Just down right disrespectful to be calling her more of a man than yourself like that.

I think you took that I little wrong Coles. I did not read it as him calling her more manly than him, but just saying she has more knowledge and can do more manly things than he can. Not calling her a male nor trying to cut her down. I could be totally wrong, but with the :angel2: guy, that's how I took it. Kind of hard to explain, but i did not take it like you did.

It was meant to be a mockery of my own capabilities, not hers. A joke at my own expense. I was merely implying that she is able to do more of the "manly" things than I am able to do, and I salute her for it. I wasn't in any way attempting to disrespect her, and if she feels so, then I apologize. I'm not on this forum to disrespect anyone, or to start fights.

Exactly how I meant it. Thanks.
