Giant found dead in MI

Recommended Posts

I got this as an email from field and stream....This thing is a total hoss, and possibly a new state record for Michigan...If you want to read the whole story, click on the orange button that says "next" above the pic....

If you don't want to read it, i'll sum it up....a lady who ownes 10 acres was walking her dog in early february and came across this giant who they guessed had recently died from natural causes. They scored him at 257 5/8 (green gross) i think, but it wasn't scored B&C. Either way, its a total slob of a buck. The DNR guessed him to be 4 1/2 years old. He has 31 inch main beams and an inside spread of 28 inches.

Michigan is definitely on the map now.

that is a big buck!! but i would not waste my time in michigan hunting deer. i lived there for 28 years and was a die hard hunter and have hunted the whole state in those 28 years. unless you have contacts with private land in southern michigan its a waste of time. the public land in northern michigan may provide the opportunity for a spike or fork horn.
