Turkeygirl
Just wanted to share this little story. I was working all weekend, Fri.- Sun. It was a trying weekend just because of some of the patients' being rediculously demanding and not trying to do stuff for themselves - it's a rehab floor so that's kind of the goal:hammer1: Anyway even if a patient is a pain in our rear ends, I treat them all the same, I look at it as doing a job for God. So there's this one patient who's a really neat guy andI found out he's an old preacher. He wanted to go to the church service held on a nursing home floor in the building.Well I found out the guy coming in to do the service for the residents was actually an old country Dr. and also missionary who delivered my sister and I way back when, lol. My mom said I better get up there and say hi. So I took the guy up yesterday for the service, waited until the guy doing the sermon came in, he and his wife came and they recognized me! I don't think we've seen them for like 10 years or something. Anyway it was really neat and when my one patient came back down afterwards, he thanked me for taking him up there, he really enjoyed it and also thanked me for being so kind to him. I said "Well, I try to be kind to everyone, besides I'm just doing God's work." So when you have a rough day, think of the people around you who may be having a rough day as well. Even the smallest thing you do can make a difference. And even if it's not a rough day, well it may be for someone else. As one of my professors in Outdoor Rec. said you don't have to do something big to make a difference in the world, something small can make just as much of a difference:)
