Awesome Bass Fishing in MS

I had 2 afternoons back to back of the most incredible spring bass fishing action I've had in years. I was fishing a friend's hunting club's 38 acre lake with him that was stocked in Florida bass about 15 years ago. We turkey hunting in the mornings and hit the lake in the afternoon. In those 2 afternoons of fishing I caught more 3+ pound fish than I ever remember putting in the boat before.

Friday afternoon we started fishing around 2:00 and quit fishing around 6:30 when we put the 50th bass in the boat. Most were released including all the big ones. Here's my biggest 2 fish from Friday. A 6lb. 14oz. and a 6lb. 11oz. bass.

Saturday afternoon we hit the lake around 1:30. It was mostly cloudy that afternoon and windy too. Kept us from fishing part of the lake but I sure can't complain. We caught 38 bass Saturday afternoon and quit around 6:30. Here are my 2 biggest bass from that afternoon...8lb. 9oz. & 6lb. 6oz.

Sure took the edge off a couple of poor spring turkey hunting mornings. ;):D

That's some fine bass Al! I would have been better off fishing than chasing turkeys last weekend! Me and my brother were supposed to fish for some crappie and catfish some at Okatibbee last weekend, but weather didn't look too hot.

Obviously, I was better off fishing than turkey hunting too John. Stayed in the woods both days until about noon with disappointing results to show for it. A couple of great afternoons bass fishing sure made up for the poor turkey hunting action and then some!
