rhine16
Hear them gobbling off the roost in the morning...
redkneck
Just go and get in the woods with them, you can hear them fly up from a long ways on a quiet day, and they'll often gobble in the afternoon. My cousin can get to howling like a dog and get them worked up into a frenzy in the afternoon, it's the craziest thing in the world to see. Diamond Archer 01
Last year I went out and saw a few turkeys head to where we figured they were roosting. My cousin also said something like you will find crap in stuff under the trees where they roost. I dont know if that is actually true but the trees he figured they were roosting in they did roost in them.
Flintlock1776
I was on one side of a big tree one night and unbeknown to me they came from the other side and made some noise going up. That gave me a start! Of course the next day I had a good idea of where I needed to be:yes:
maytom
Get in the woods about an hour or so before dusk while fully dressed in camo, and set up where you've seen birds. (bring along a good seat) A gobbler will gobble on the way towards his roost tree and again after he flys up. Pin point that location and set-up the next morning accordingly. Be sure not to get too close so as to spook them off on the way out. Birds will roost in the same area year after year unless major tree cutting has ruined the area. jerdanmagic
I like to drive around at dusk and hit an owl call. They will often gobble back and give their location away.
pointing_dogs_rule
After hunting the same area for 20+ years I have gotten to know the oak trees that they roost in every year. Good luck to all the dog
