Down 7.5lbs!

So my GI Specialist told me to lose 25lbs in the next year or he would put me on meds to make the lose the weight (because of my liver issues).

Im really not all that heavy (208lbs starting weight). Losing 25lbs will put me at 183lbs. I havent weighed that since my mid 20's (ill be 34 this summer), back when I was into body building.

Still, the challenge is on. Im starting to cut and drop the weight. I hit an early plateau at 5lbs (I knew it would happen) but it didnt take long to get moving again. As of right now im down 7.5lbs. This morning the scale was at 200.6. Ive only been on this diet for 2 weeks (high protein, low fat and carbs, lots of water). Ive been exercising some too so the cardio has to be helping! 17.5lbs to go!

However, I will probably drop to 180 once I hit 182 for good measure. If things keep looking like they are right now I should be able to drop that 25 in a year easy! 50 weeks and around 17.5lbs to go.......

As of this morning... 8.5lbs down.

As far as the diet, portion control is probably the best thing you can do. I dont limit myself 100% from the "bad things" i meerly watch how much of them I eat.

There are some foods to avoid or limit such as fried foods, ice cream, etc. Granted those are the best kinds but they are typically loaded with either fat or sugar. Other than that im still eating breads, rice, meat, etc. The major difference is im having to train myself to leave food on a plate. Somewhere in my mid 20's when I realized the food was actually costing me I started cleaning the plate. That is no longer the case and is actually a pretty bad habbit!

I also put far less on my plate and never go back for seconds. I figure a helping is no larger than the palm of my hand. I dont limit myself to a few things though. Yesterday I was at a Chinese Buffet and I had pretty much a full plate. I did however go for the better stuff like baked chicken, peel and eat shrimp, fish, and wild rice. When I was finished my plate wasnt clean. I left some.

Also, give up pop/soda. It LOADED with sugar. I havent had a hard time with that. I would rather have water most of the time anyway. Pop causes horrible weight gain.

Egg whites make a difference too. If you thow out the yolk you cut the calories in more than half. Eat those with some wheat toast and you have a low fat breakfast. Keep things around that are low fat like fruit to keep you from getting hungry during the day....

And of course add cardio. You can lose weight by eating less but running, biking, exercise is by far the best way. The weight will come off much sooner...
