TBow
The St. Lawrence Seaway is open for the 2010 shipping season and I saw my first commercial lake ship (we call them lakers) yesterday. It was one of the Misner Ship Lines painted blue and white. I'm an old river person and really like seeing the ships. Working for the coast guard for 37 years sort'a played to that passion. But this year will be the first year since the early 70s that I won't have carte blance access to going boating like I was used to when I was working. Gon'na miss that for sure. Might even think about getting myself a boat if I find I'm missing it too much! Working for the coast guard put me on the river as early as March 15th on rare occassions and throughout the year and as late as January dodging small thin ice patches.
