redkneck
Ok, so I think my rear end has about had it. Been whining for a while now (fluid ok) and now finally started slinging fluid from the front seal. Question is: is there anything simple to fix on these? Can you unbolt the yoke and replace a bearing and seal or does the entire ring and pinion have to be replaced?
Shaun_300
Well the pinion seal can be changed without taking it apart, that's about it. The whine is probably worn pinion bearings or carrier bearings, if they're worn enough it could ruin the gears. I'd be taking it in and at least get the cover taken off and see what's wrong with it.
