Turkeygirl
Here's some pics, was by myself yesterday. Landed this nice fat female on my 7 wt. fly rod, on a red/slamon egg colored sucker spawn I tied. Actually first cast of the day, got my line broken when one snagged into it. Well when I hooked this girl an hour later, guess who's black wooly bugger was stuck in it's tail???:1eye: First cast with that sucker spawn on, actually it wasn't a cast, I had just put the line out in order to get ready to cast and she nailed in, total suprise to me! Was able to keep her in a small pool and finally managed to bring her in and grab her one handed. She measured in at 28"....and packed full of eggs which when I got home, they all squirted out so my other photos, she looks like she is anorexic, lol. Going to hopefully go back Friday for some more action.

Turkeygirl
Going back tomorrow...Andy is going along as well. May be the last chance with all this warm weather...Could be packed to with people, who knows. Been working off and on on replenishing another fly box. Mom likes to put the fillets in tinfoil with some herbs, butter, grated carrot and something else...they turn out really tasty...But this time we might be throwing a few wild leeks in I dug as well...mmmmm

I wish we had the decent steelhead fishing that you guys in W. NY get. The Salmon River ok but that is about it.

BRHNTR
I just got back after 3 days on the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY and we hammered the steelhead. Between the 2 of us we had 15-20 hookups per day and landed 9-10 each day. They where all drop backs but the fight was still great. Turkeygirl
Thanks Muggs...caught on one of those leaders you told me how to tie...Of course after a couple broke off at various knot joints, I figured out why my knots weren't holding...Tried a different knot to join the various leader pieces - I think it was a uni to uni knot...either way worked well!
