Geocaching

Shaun, were any of the geocache's big enough to leave something in? And if so, was there anything in them? I think on one of Justin's days off from work I'll see if he wants to go do this as it sounds like so much fun! I'll probably bring along a couple small items, toys, pins, etc. with us to drop in the cache to leave for others when they find it.

Such a cool idea! :D

It is a absolute hoot! I thought it was kind of dumb til I went with my dad the first time, I was hooked. :D It's almost like a treasure hunt without the golden prize. They can be hidden under rocks, in trees at a reachable height, in the top of a fence post, in tree trunks, anywhere! They caches themselves can be as small as a 35mm film canister, or a bit smaller, up to big 6" ABS pipes that are 18" long with the screw on lid all camo painted. You find anything in them, coins, toys, balls, lots of different things. You can take something and leave something, or you can just sign the log with your gecaching member login name and not take anything. It's a really fun way to spend some time in the outdoors.

Brandon, you'd be very surprised, I thought the same about the Ottawa Valley, but there are lots! The city of Ottawa has hundreds, just zoom into that area on the website and look.:jaw:

Hey Shaun I just looked it up and I see there are a few here on the Island...next time you are here we will have to look them up.

Yeah for sure Joe! I'll bring the GPS.
