MichiganHunter
I thought I would ask on here to see if I could get any answers. I have a 12ft flat bottom boat I was considering putting a truck bed coating on the bottom, since it is in and out of my truck bed and on and off boat launch pavement and since I do alot of bow fishing out of it it's rubbing on rocks, trees and the bottom in shallow water, this last year it has really started to take a beating in that area. I was also going to put some on the standing area of the boat. I was wondering if anyone has done this or has seen it done. Thanks
Dawg
I've seen it on the inside of a boat that my buddy had but never have seen it done on the hull.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Yep, I've seen it on both the inside and on the hull. If you're going to expose it to saltwater, make sure the compound you use is rated for that. Line-X is the best I've seen.

I will have to do the do it your self stuff.
The_Kat
I used some bed liner to seal a patch job on my ole john boat and liked how it looked, so I painted the entire thing in it. It worked just fine, but if your going to be using a decent sized engine on yours, I'd think the rough surface would cause a lot of drag??? Maybe not, but logic tells me it may. The_Kat
Ya, I'm not even sure on my logic bud....I was just thinking out loud. I know they wax alot of boat surfaces so I was thinking slick equals fast, rough equals slow/drag. Could be completely opposite. As far as just using a 6hp and drag problems......well I don't think you'd get enough speed to notice any real resisitance if the rough surface even caused resisitance. Does that makes sense? stevebeilgard
i've had rhino liner on my truck bed and the new truck has line x. line x is much better. as for the bottom of the boat i'm thinking inside on the bottom is great but outside i'm just not sure. i'll bet it would work fine. The Bug House
I'm currently restoring a 13' Boston Whaler and the website I've been using for referwnce shows a rubberized liner sprayed on the deck. It's on the continouswave website, I'll post a link when I get home from work.
