slughunter
My 92 4.3 died today at my work shop. I started it cold at my house, drove it to work (4 minutes) and shut it off. About 20 minutes later I tried to start it and it didnt fire. I heard the fuel pump come on when I turned the key, and it turns over fine, but doesnt fire. I just redid all the wires, plugs, cap and I also just redid the pump and pump relay within the last month, so those should be fine. We were thinking it was the ignition module ? Any thoughts would be good, should probably get it fixed before my boss realizes im taking home the work duramax at night. lol -shane
redkneck
Did you check your coil? Dist cap and rotor? I'd start there if you're not getting fire.

Shaun_300
Take the coil wire off with plastic pliers (or you'll get one HECK of a shock, it's never happened to me, not. ) and have someone roll the engine over to see if there's spark coming out of the coil. Trust me, 50K volts hurts.

MMMM doesn't the 92 still have an HEI? i dont remember on the v6, it could be as simple as the wire coming unpluged out of the back if not clipped in correctly after the cap change. slughunter
It was a module, I swapped it out for a new one and it seems to run good. Thanks for the input guys. -shane

I had ing module go out on my old 86 chevy truck but it went out while driving home from work but I'm just glad I knew a great tow truck driver at that time.
