DaveHawk
I have a completely new design for home made lighted nocks. I shoot aluminum shafts with super-uni bushings and they work flawlessly.
LifeNRA
Ok, Ill bite. Why not show us how you make them then?
snapper
Didn't you already have a post in the classifieds that got deleted by a moderator about these nocks? This will be left alone for the time being! But I can tell you...you've made two posts...both towards advertising a product you must intend to sell...otherwise you would have told members how to make them for themselves. TBow
I tried making some homemade lighted nocks too, but the dang extension cord kept slowing the arrows down, plus they pulled out of the plugin after 30 feet or so. Oh well, back to the drawing board! TBow
snapper
plus they pulled out of the plugin after 30 feet or so. Try a longer extention cord! 100 ft. would get you a little over 33 yards.
LifeNRA
Wow, must be a real pain to carry in that generator and all that gasoline to keep it running! LOL!!! Not that the deer will mind all that noise and smell! LOL!!!

DaveHawk
I guess I am not vested enough to advertise on this web-site yet. Sorry I didn't read all the rules for posting to the classifieds. Thanks for all your help Snapper.

TBow
i am going to try those solar yard lights in mine... If you're going to attach these to your arrows for lights, I'd suggest enlarging your whisker bisquet to about 6" dia so the solar light will clear the bow and using the real 3M 200 mph handyman's handy tool for keeping them on the arrow shafts! I'm still working on refining my extension cord aproach, but the spool I put on the front of the bow to coil the cord on is getting too heavy and my arms are getting really tired trying to hold it steady enough to aim. I got a battery and a power invertor to power this rig up, but as has been said, the generator and gasoline can were getting too awkward to drag around. I tried putting the invertor on a backpack to carry it, but once the extension cord wound off the spool, the connecting cord going from my bow to my backpack near took my head off! :crutch: Oh well, back to the drawing board. Sometimes I think it would be just easier to hunt during the daylight!:cool2: TBow

TBow
Drop away eh? I'd probably opt for a flipper rest, as I personally am really experienced with being flipped off quite a few times! Sorry DH! LifeNRA
These things are not only off the drawing board, but off the chart. I can't keep up with demand, selling these lighted nocks for $5 each. I can sell either my lighted nocks for $5 each, or I can sell the instructions for $5 so you can make them yourself (for about 3$ ea.). My buddies and I will have pleanty of these for this fall's hunting season. Ok, now your admitting that your selling the plans for $5 a piece! You don't even have the time in here or probably the ok from Realtree! I smell a banning! Somebody better get Swampy in here quick!!! LOL!!! TBow
O.K. I think I can undercut that price. Let's say for a Tim Horton's double-double or a frosty mug of Coor's finest, I'll provide a list of five stores where you can buy that 100 foot extension cord, a 100 watt light bulb and a roll of the Handyman's Handy Tool! Osceola Slayer
Just to jump back on topic for a second, if you want to save yourself some money and use something you can depend on, I have used Nockturnal Nocks boar hunting here, and after 10 or so smackdowns, haven't had a problem. They have a killer switch, and they always light up and are easy to turn off. I am in no way affiliated with Nockturnal Nocks, just passing on info. Building your own nocks, even for pros, is kind of a misnomer. Having such a weight and flight effect on your arrow, I would rather have something I have total confidance in. Dont get me wrong, I also use luminoks, but only what I have left. I'm buying nockturnals from now on. IMHO.
LifeNRA
Well, I been using the ones that I make for the last few years. Absolutely ZERO problems here! Still using my original ones too!!! Best $4 per nock I ever spent for my arrows! ;)
LifeNRA
Funny thing I just noticed. DaveHawk seems to be always on line! Kind of makes you wonder if he stays on line because he might be getting PM's and making his money. Thanks to Realtree of course!!!

Kind of makes you wonder if he stays on line because he might be getting PM's and making his money. Thanks to Realtree of course!!! Agreed. Also agreed on making your own knocks, like I tell everyone, confidance in the stand is the number one thing to making a good shot. If you confidant in you knocks, nothing else matters. I just have to have the same confidance, because believe it or not, at dusk when you shoot a great buck, finding the arrow is the most important thing to making the decision on the recovery. I can't have nocks I need to worry whether they're going to stay lit or not, guys must be pretty good at making their on knocks. Take care.
