In stock configuration, I don't think one is better than the other. Like Iron Buck says, if you want to change something to aftermarket, the Woogah is the way to go. You can replace anything on that gun with better aftermarket parts.

AJ can I buy a 10-22 mag and just swap the barrle for the 17hmr? will the clips work with the 17hmr bullets. what will I have to do for the crossover? thanks in advance.

Buy a 10-22 Magnum, buy a 17 HMR barrel and ammo. The new barrel has to be the same profile as the original barrel. If you want a heavy barrel 17 HMR, the stock has to be opened up to accomodate the thicker barrel. After doing that, the 22 Mag barrel will not be supported by the stock. So stick with the same profile.

The barrel is easily replaced. It is held in by 2 cap screws that keep a dovetail in the receiver in place. I can swap barrels in them in about 3 minutes from ready to shoot 22 Mag to ready to shoot 17 HMR.

Daffy, I checked there web sight and I did not find a 10-17. but that don't mean that they don't make it either. AJ, as always thanks for the info, you are a good man.
