Turkeygirl
Contemplating getting up in the AM and taking a walk up to the old gravel pit behind my house, the traditional spot each spring for listening for those AM gobbles. Anyone in NY been hearing any birds yet?
woolybear
Heard some for the first time this year about a week ago. More gobbling this afternoon behind the house, sounded like 3 of them heading to roost. Hard not to get excited now.
Hoyt03
I can't imagine they wouldn't be gobbling. They have been hard at it in PA for like a month. The season starts too late.
Diamond Archer 01
I am hearing them gobble and see them strutting around quite a bit now.
Squirrelhunter91
Was listening to 2 toms sound off the last two nights right across the street from my old high school. Birds are starting to heat up for sure. Less than 2 weeks til the youth hunt. Taking my brother out again this year.

Squirrelhunter91
Ruth.. these are all from about an hour ago on my ride home from school.. These birds are 100% suburban gobblers, less than 30 miles from NYC. They were tearing it up strutting and gobbling in this yard. I started calling to them on the diaphragm and they went nuts. There was one monstrocity of a tom that wouldn't break strut in the backyard because he had 2 hens with him. His beard was dragging while he was in full strut. I know the pics are blurry but they were close to 60 yards away and my zoom was maxed out.
