Ohiobucks
We just moved into our new house. No, that is not bad. We had DSL at our old house and rental. No, that was not bad either. I just established an internet connection at our new house. Back to, *gulp*.....dial up......... Let me tell you, going from dial up to DSL, then back to dial up really, really hurts. There is no comparison, that is for sure! OK quit feeling bad for me, there are a lot of other people out there in the same boat I am in......... tedicast
Re: Man, this is bad...... I feel for you man. I don't know what I would do if I had to give up my cable, and go back to dial-up!

birddog
Re: Man, this is bad...... I can't imagine: I run an outdoor website and obviously I try to get my buddies to post, etc. I have my best friend and he has never been on the site (lots of pics of him, etc) Well he said it just takes too long....Sooo, I am at his house and was going to show him the site, he is on dial up (the only option where he lives) and it seriously took 2-3 minutes for pages to load......No wonder he has never been on the internet! He just said he doesn't have the patience to wait.....I was with him 100% I feel for ya buddy!

Ohiobucks
Re: Man, this is bad...... DSL and cable are not available in my area. The only "high speed" options were satellite (which is very cheap...... ) and ISDN (which is only about twice as fast as dial up, but you pay cable or DSL rates.......) I'll make it guys and gals. That is one of the trade offs for living in the country. But the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot.
buckbuster11
Re: Man, this is bad...... I'm in the same boat Tom. If I want internet, then I have to have dial up. No cable or dsl offered out in these parts. Sucks doesnt it?
JimT
Re: Man, this is bad...... Dial up stinks for sure. I have high speed here at work. Much better. I only visit a few sites, so it is not big deal to me.

Ohiobucks
Re: Man, this is bad...... If I wasn't spoiled on DSL for about 6 months, I wouldn't have even brought this up. But man, flying around the internet with DSL after creeping with dial up, then having to go back to dial up.........
Guest Finn
Re: Man, this is bad...... I don't think I could survive on dial-up. I have to use that when I travel for work and it's like chinese water torture....
