pointing_dogs_rule
Good luck. I just bought one of those Mossberg Ultimags so that the small kids can use the gun when the stock is collapsed down. Very easy to handle when they are short. When I was sighting the gun in I realized that "IT KICKS LIKE A MULE" (even with 2 3/4 inch shells). Not anything a 100 pound kid would enjoy. I looked at Sims Limsaver stock pads, however, they do not fit that model. Have you changed butt pads and if so what brand did you use?? Thanks Good luck to all the dog

It has awesome knockdown power on birds; I've never have taken a 2nd shot with it using the loads above. I've had to have the gunsmith adjust the gun a bit as 3 1/2" rounds did not chamber well. After he fixed it, it was fine. I use to use a Remington 870 express back in the way, way back in the day with 2 1/2" shells. With that gun I did have to take more than one shot on a bird. With today's new rounds and cokes perhaps the Remington may be better suited to a small shooter. Good luck.
Diamond Archer 01
I use a remington 870 in 20 gauge and it does awesome on birds with my choke and shells. Both birds I killed were at like 32 yards and I only had to take one shot on both.
