TBow
Do you ever notice that no matter what size of apartment or house, or houses you own or live in, you seem to accumulate just enough stuff to always fill every little nook and cranny? I used to live in a two bedroom apartment and had it filled to the ceilings with stuff. I remember thinking, "Man if I could only live in a larger house, I'd have all the room in the world to store things!". Well you know what, for the past 34 years I've lived in a four bedroom home, and you guessed it, I've had every closet and spare room and space filled to the brim. But the last of my kids moved out just a year and a half ago and I retired last year, so I've waged an all out battle against "stuff accumulation" and I'm starting to see some success. I've been taking old clothing to Goodwill and charitable organizations, calling my kids to come for supper then getting them to go through all of their old stuff that they left behind and using gentle persuasion to get them to take their junk to their homes (otherwise it takes the ride to the dumster), putting stuff out on the curb with a sign reading "FREE", shredding and burning old papers and burnable junk, giving stuff away to friends, selling a few items in classifieds, sneaking my wife's trinket stash into the weekly garbage pickup and if all else fails, loading up my 7' x 14' utility trailer and paying the tippage fee at the local waste management business. I think I'm actually starting to make some headway on this battle against "stuff", that I'm waging. There's actually more stuff going out of my house than is coming in. Of the four bedrooms in my house, three are actually usable now, with one left to clean out, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....as long as my wife quits buying trinkets and useless junk. I think she's addicted. I think it's true what they say about women, "They love to shop 'till they drop!". TBow

Strut10
Murphy's 1st law of stuff: "No matter how much storage space you have for your stuff, it's not enough". If you buy or build more storage space, there will be no more than a 1 year period where the 1st law does not apply. After that.....see above.
