Ohiobucks
Who here has done it? I repositioned my blind yesterday morning, and while I was sitting in it looking at the angles, I thought that it would be perfect for bowhunting birds. Taking tomorrow morning off to hunt, and I'm thinking about taking the Hoyt instead of the Winchester. Any thoughts? I have a few Rage 2 blade broadheads left, I'm thinking they would make short work of a turkey......
The Kid
i have took two buddies out turkey hunting so far and the one guy missed twice because he was hitting his arm, the other guy missed twice because he wasnt drawn back in the blind when they were coming and because he wasnt wearing any black they spotted him moving, he missed another bird because he didnt know the correct yardage, so my advice would be to set those decoys if your using them 10 yards from your blind, draw back before they get in your view and when you can shoot those birds, dont hesitate those birds can cover some ground when there nervous,, aim strait and let her fly
RangerClay
I've released an arrow on 2 turkeys. I got the first and lost the second (got nothing but breast meat). The Rage should be a great broadhead. Remember the vitals the vitals on a turkey are a little lower. I try to break down their legs so they cannot jump up and fly or aim for the spine if they are facing away from me. Good luck, bowhunting turkeys from a blind is a real hoot. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63799

WHISKEYSWAMP
I tried it one year... I missed and didn't end up with a bird that year. It was definitely a frustrating year. I might give it another try now that I've already shot one this year. I'll have to get the bow out and shoot a little to get the kinks out first... been a while since I shot. Tominator
Certainly would be a challenge Tom. Personal call I guess. Seeing as you have a 23 lb. bird down already, it might be fun to try, eh?

WHISKEYSWAMP
Seeing as you have a 23 lb. bird down already, it might be fun to try, eh? Definitely would be fun to try again... The year I missed, I chased that joker around for two weeks before I got a shot. It happened so fast, I simply misjudged the distance and shot the dirt in front of him. it was a fun chase but dissapointing ending. I've never hunted them from a blind... would definitely be helpful with a bow.

I always say wingbone and up!!
Strut10
I've tried it a couple times. Just never had any good opportunities when the bow was in hand.
dbHunterNY
Haven't shot one with a bow yet. I'd bring both if you're in a blind.
Ohiobucks
I'm in the blind right now and let me tell you "bowhunting turkeys is hard. Period." I use a slate call primarily and didn't think to try it at home with my release on.....almost impossible. Still at it though.
Ohiobucks
The gun is back at the truck, I'm thinking 8:00a I'm trading the AlphaMax for the scatter gun.
