okiebuck
Hey guys, Just bought a slightly used 2009 Powerhawk. It is quite an upgrade over my old High Country Excaliber! This thing is amazing! It is set at 70lbs, which surprisingly feels like 60-65. The DL is perfect for me, and is also adjustable without a press. Came with a Ripcord rest, single pin adjustable sight, and a new release. I am kind of liking the single pin sight, but I don't know how practical it would be in hunting sutuations. It's nice just having a single crosshair to look at rather than multiple tiny pins. As for the Ripcord, I am now a fan for life! I have used an Octane Hostage for a few years and never thought much of the drop aways, but man it is sweet! This is the smoothest, quietest bow I have ever shot, I am really happy with it. I think my wife is even jealous of it now too;) Anyways, I wanted to get some opinions on what arrows to shoot out of it. I have always just bought the cheap carbon express stuff from Wally World during hunting season and they have worked just fine. But with this new bow, I want to shoot whatever would fly best, as far as weight, etc. Thanks!

bucknut
Congrats on the Bow! As far as arrows go, Iam a big fan of Easton Full Metal Jackets. They fly like darts and hit like a truck.
dbHunterNY
Happy shooting. If you're in the woods you can hold over or under easily enough. I don't know where you'd get many shots over around 30 yards.
ChrisSeb53
cabelas stalker extreme arrows run about $80 for a dozen and are tough as nails.. they fly really well too... i have shot them and am currently shooting carbon express maxima hunter 350's... they shoot very well too but are a little pricey... okiebuck
Thanks guys! I got to use the bow a little sooner than I thought on live game. I was mowing this morning, turned the mower off to fill it up and heard a tom gobbling just west of me. I grabbed my slate and my new bow and headed a little closer to where he was calling. I called for about 10 minutes and brought him in around 40 yards. I didnt range him because I was in too big of a hurry to get down there and left my rangefinder behind, so this was just by sight. I set my single pin sight at 35 yards, and put an arrow right through this toms head! I know it sounds like BS, but it really happened! Probably couldnt do it again, but gosh it was amazing! That bow is crazy fast. The arrow went straight thru his head and kept going so I thought I missed for a split second, then the bird just dropped! Here are a couple pics, thanks for all the replies!
