Update from Chuck

He has gone from not having to take medicines to taking all sorts of medicines 3 times a day. He also has to adjust to a low sodium diet, and has many restrictions for the next 8 weeks of recovery.

Dakota's heart function remains at a very low level, but the medicines and the pacemaker/defibrulator surgery will hopefully buy him some time before he is placed on the heart transplant waiting list. He will have follow up appointments with his cardiologist in Sioux Falls, along with his cardiologists (including his new heart transplant cardiologist) at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Now we'll just take things day to day and place everything in God's hands. Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Steve

Even for a guy whose profession is all about words, it is difficult to think of something to say to buoy Dakota's spirits and encourage him to keep up the fight. Perhaps just knowing how many of us care and are pulling and praying for him is that little extra he is going to need to get over the hump and keep on keepin' on.

Dakota-we are pulling for you, bud. I am sure it is hard, but the good stuff never comes easy.

With prayers from Indiana,

HB

Thanks for all your prayers and words of hope, all! Sorry I haven't been on in a while; even the heat of the laptop is physically draining right now. :( I am on so many meds and restrictions right now it's just plain rediculous!:D I'm hoping to take a couple half shifts at work this week to see how I can handle it but we'll just have to see. Sounds like turkey hunting is out for this spring...yet again...so y'all whack some gobblers for me will ya? Thanks again!

God Bless,

Dakota :)
