MichiganHunter Posted April 29, 2010 Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 are you turkey hunting or deer hunting. If turkey I like red dot scopes they seam to be well set for that type of use. If you are deer hunting I have used bushnell banner scopes for my gun, I had one for 3 years then it failed and put a new one on it, works great. Turkeygirl Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 For Turkey, I'd suggest a Red Dot, I have a TruGlo Red Dot on my Mossberg 500 20 ga...Does very very well. When it's deer season, I have a Nikon ProStaff scope...actually just got it this past sseason because the old Tasco went nuts. Great optics with Nikon, can't go wrong. Won't need a scope for ducks/geese, at least I've never seen duck/goose hunting with a scope,lol...better with open sights...TruGlo and HiViz make some fiber optic sights for such...turkey as well. Flintlock1776 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 Bushnell Holo Sight is a Heads Up Display (HUD) like fighter pilots use. It does not cast a beam so it should be good in most states. It is good on slow walking turkeys and fast flying game due to the HUD and eye relief it gives. It has screw in choke tubes on the barrel so it works great for turkey or deer. If you ever decide to leave your husband yoou sound like my kind of woman.
