Just got back and feel fine. I can honestly say i had fun having it done too. Now-a-days they put you under, which was a first for me, and it was actually a fun experience! I remember waking up (kind of) and just thinking, "I kinda want to do that agaian!". Right now i'm trying to put all the pieces together and remember what all happened before and after the procedure. Just thought i'd share that all with you guys.

My girlfriend had hers done about a month ago. She was excited to have it done since it was her first time going under too. She wasnt too excited later on when she was puking from the pain meds and anesthesia. I went to visit her that evening and she got mad at me the next day for not coming to see her and wouldnt believe me that i really did lol. I felt pretty bad for her. Im still dreading the day i have to have mine done.

Had mine done about 10 years ago. I was also put under, it was kinda cool. Never had any pain after I woke up either. Doc had me juiced with novacaine too, and I took a few Ibuprofens to get the swelling down. Worst part was the blood taste in my mouth for a few days.

I can honestly say it was way less of a production than I had feared.

Don't worry about it. I was kinda nervous too just cuz i didn't know what to expect but its painless. They gave me laughing gas before (but i don't think i got any effect of it, i almost think it wasn't turned on lol) and then they slip the IV needle in which was the most painless needle slip i've ever had. Next thing you know your up and stumbling around with the nurse to the recovery room where your ride home is waiting.

That's exactly the way mine was. My tongue, teeth, and the front of my mouth and chin were all numb. I could've probably bit my tongue in half and not even felt it. And ya,i can't believe how painless it was and why i stressed over it for so long.

Are you still under the influence of the anesthesia? :fish:

Nathan

Hahaha nope :D i feel back to my normal self now. Just watching a little Jim Shockey. Can't wait to lay low all weekend and just watch movies and tv and live off a diet of milkshakes. It's supposed to rain now through Sunday so it was a good time to have the procedure. The only time that i can remember myself doing something weird while still drugged up was when i tried to lay down on the recovery bed backwards. I think i remember the nurse telling me to turn around and kind of laughing at me.

Had to have mine surgically removed. They were impacted. He gave me a sedative and some pain meds. Man when it was over I felt like a million bucks. Had to stop and get pain pills at wal mart on the way home. All was fine til blood started flowing into my mouth. I looked at the lady and asked her how long it would be. My wife just looked at me funny. Lady at the counter said about an hour. I said great, you got a paper towel and a trash can. She said what for...........I opened my mouth the rest of the way and tilted my head forward and blood ran down my chin into my hand

5 minutes later my meds were done.

Hahaha that would've been a fun trick to play on someone who didn't know about the operation. I had gauze in my mouth for quite some time. I remember the first two pieces they pulled out were covered in blood. Then about an hour later i pulled out the second pieces that were somewhat bloody but not bad. Hopefully they're done bleeding but if not i'll try to scare the crap out of a friend of mine

If you pants were unbuttoned when you woke up, I wouldn't pay! :D

I ate some doritos the day after I had mine out...but I am a MAN's MAN! ;) Actually one got stuck in my incision and it hurt, I was mainly worried about infection after I did that. So far so good and that was 22 years ago. Dear Lord, 22 years ago...it just seems like yesterday.

O jeez! That must've hurt. It hurts whenever you get a "dorito dagger" into the roof of your mouth, let alone in the incision from having a tooth taken out. You truly are a man's man! :boxing: :gunsmilie:

Umm...congrats? LOL Are you sure you're really 'ok'? lol:-p Glad you aren't too worse for wear...Take it easy, you honestly don't want to get an infection started.

Never had mine pulled...Had 2 other teeth pulled for braces, so that I could keep my "wisdom".

Lol Yup as of right now i feel good. I'll be taking another pain killer here in about 45 mins as i'm supposed to. I've just been relaxing on the couch and taking it easy. Your lucky you got to keep your "wisdom". i advised the doctor and nurses that if they knew me, they'd probably want to think twice about removing any kind of "wisdom" from my body lol

Haven't had mine out yet, the dentist told me about 5 years ago I had to have them out. Stubborn me said no way, still have them and they're in and not causing me any problems. No pain or anything! I just make sure I get my toothbrush way back there to clean them, almost gag myself everytime I brush trying to get at them. Dad just had his out 2 years ago and he's 50.

Ya i was wondering if it was turning into a scam now that you have to pay for the anesthesia and laughing gas and all that, when really all you need to do is make sure you brush them real good everyday. With me it wasn't really an option because i had braces for a few years that cost my parents good money to fix my smile, so if anything was threatening to screw that up it had to go.

I guess the reason im dreading having mine taken out is because of having teeth pulled when i was probably 9 or 10 years old. I never pulled my teeth when they were loose so they got crowded. Dentist had to pull 7 of them at one time. All i got was laughing gas and shots in the roof of my mouth. I still cringe when i think about those shots. I have HATED dentists since the first time i ever went to one.

Ya i can understand what ya mean. Before i lost all my baby teeth i always had bad news from the dentist. Ever since the permanent ones came in and i had the braces taken off it's been a complete turn-around. Only good news from the dentist now-days.

But you really don't have anything to worry about. They give you the gas before anything happens and the IV needle goes in almost painlessly. Next thing you know your out like a light and you wake up in the recovery room loaded with novacaine (might've spelled that wrong). The novacaine doesn't wear out for hours and by then you've already taken enough ibuprofen to shoot yourself without feeling a thing. It's painless as can be, except for having to rinse your mouth with nasty salt water and baking soda

(My name's Cole too, by the way. If that is your real name)

I took the "happy gas" too when I had my teeth pulled.......got the cows milked in no time that night...felt like my feet never hit the ground

for my colonoscopy I had the same stuff Mikeal Jackson O.D. on!

Hahaha that would've been a sight. :D

I was disappointed when i got the gas. I was told by the nurses that it would take me on any hunting or fishing trip i wanted to go on, but i didn't notice any of that. I really didn't feel any effect from the gas :(

Lol I know what you mean. Here I i spent all this time trying to decide what type of hunting or fishing trip i was gonna take when the gas kicked in but i never even got out of the dentist's chair let alone to a deerstand.
