BearClaw
Went out this morning before work and didn't hear one gobble! Had five deer milling around the decoys and I think wondering why they weren't moving. Well, they finally went up the hollow and were probably 50-75 yard sup so I used my slate call to try to convince them they were real. All of a sudden they come trotting back down the hill towards the decoys! I think I'll try that during deer season! lol
WHISKEYSWAMP
yup... have thought about doing the same. Deer seem to be very curious during turkey season, sometimes they drive me nuts because they just don't want to leave. Last year I had a doe follow and kick at a tom until she pushed him away from me, it was like the she was protecting him... the tom never broke strut the entire time. It was actually pretty fun to watch. :eat:
Flintlock1776
deer usually don't care about birds. Good luck hunting the Tom!
