snapper
Only thing left to do is wait for the mantle to dry so I can cut it to size...sand and poly it. The mantle is a chestnut oak that was cut down for the garage!

snapper
Oh...just to be clear...I don't have that kind of time to build something like this. I hired a friend to frame and install the firebox (propane). Had another friend (masory by trade) to do the stone work and chimney on the roof. Its not real stone...its a manufactured stone by a local company. I picked the firebox, granite hearth, and the design of how big and what I wanted. I will however install the mantle when that time comes.

Going to add vent free gas(propane) logs here eventually, will be using face stone, not sure yet if we will go all the way to the ceiling or partial like yours. Rhino
Looks great Gregg. We did ours at our new camp last year and made the mantle from the center cut of a dead cedar tree we found in the woods.
